Social Accountability Day Colourfully Celebrated in Dire Dawa City

The annual Social Accountability Day was colourfully celebrated on August 06/2015 in Dire Dawa City with a motto: “Sustaining our Successes through Collaboration and Partnership”. The celebration was organized by Jerusalem Children and Community Development Organization (JeCCDO) in partnership with Management Agency (MA), Center for Development Initiatives (CDI), and Dire Dawa Community Action (DDCA).

JeCCDO Hosts Bi-annual Review Meeting

JeCCDO’s newly furnished training facility in Bishoftu Town has successfully hosted US Embassy’s “Youth solidarity and English Language” Program from August 1-31, 2014. This was a kind of program whereby youth drawn from the 9 regions and 2 city administrations of the country live together for one month with the aim of improving their intercultural communication and English language. Apart from hosting the program, JeCCDO introduced the participant with a kind of urban Agriculture called Bio-Intensive Gardening and also enabled them to have practical exposure on its demonstration site in the compound.

Community Outreach Youth Soccer wound Up

JeCCDO has successfully concluded a special soccer tournament called Community Outreach Youth Soccer (COYS) which it has implemented for the last two years in Dire Dawa City. The program; being financed by the US Embassy to Ethiopia, has been executed in collaboration with the Dire Dawa, Somali and Hararie Regional Sport and Police Commissions and the Dire Dawa Community Action (DD-CA). The main purpose of the program was to build up the socio-cultural interaction between youth of Ethiopia Somali, Harari and Dire Dawa; and their relationship to police and elderly people.
