The Annual CBOs Good Practice Day Colourfully Celebrated


The Annual CBOs Good Practice Day with a motto “Partnering with CBOs for Sustainable Development” was colourfully celebrated on June 30th 2016 in JeCCDO Opportunity for Change Training Centre in Bishoftu. The Good Practice Day was organized by JeCCDO for the second consecutive year, and the celebration was part of JeCCDO’s effort to promote community based development approach in Ethiopia.
The Day was marked with exhibitions, panel discussions and award ceremony. Through the exhibitions, the CBOs showcased their remarkable engagement in local development efforts to invited patners, stakeholders and the public at large. The panel discussion which was held on same theme has also helped to discuss and reach consensus by governmental, non-governmental and the CBOs on the how of enhancing partnership with CBOs towards sustainable development. Besides, CBOs which registered remarkable achievement in development were given recognition and awards.
The Day was graced by Ato Tatek Amsalu, Mayor of Debre Birhan Town, W/o Zewdnesh Assefa representative of Mayor of Bishoftu, and representatives of regional governments, CSO partners and donors. In the event, more than 60 JeCCDO’s partner CBOs which came from all corners of the Country took part and a total of 300 people attended the event. JeCCDO Opportunity for Change Training Centre is owned by JeCCDO and is instituted to serve as centre of excellence for CBOs’ capacity development.
